We know how important it is for children with autism to feel motivated and be productive, like all children.

Before Hope Weinstein started Creations of Hope she worked as a speech-language pathologist. She was working in a school for students on the autism spectrum and would hear reports from parents that one of their greatest frustrations was the many hours their children spent doing nothing productive during downtime at home. Hope also observed that many children with autism had difficulty making meaningful choices, often because few people were able to discover their potential interests. Hope found that with the right tools children with autism could develop interests and skills, to make life more constructive and enjoyable. Thus, Hope’s journey with Makerspaces began!

Creations of Hope offers services and products that help families and educators discover the benefits that a Makerspace can provide their children. In terms of services, we consult with schools and families so they learn what a Makerspace is and what it can do to help children to not just function better but to thrive. We offer weekly Makerspace sessions to small groups of children in central New Jersey. We also provide online and in-person training to schools and organizations that would like to start their own Makerspaces for children on the autism spectrum.
